There have been various discussions following the presentation of a plan to postpone the decision to allow the sale of only electric cars from 2035, also permitting plug-in hybrids, hybrids, and even combustion engine cars (for a very small share) powered by eco-friendly fuels. Generally electric cars are much more efficient than combustion cars and have lower pollutant emissions if the energy supply chain for battery charging is clean; then the entire battery production chain must be clean and which is currently a significant issue. Other problems include the excessive weight of electric cars, often slow charging and some people complain that in the case of plug-in hybrids drivers sometimes tend to charge the battery very little for electric-only use and prefer fuel instead.
