Improving the sustainability of the forestry sector in Indonesia also with innovative technologies is essential to protect the highly degraded environment, for example given the serious damage detected in three provinces in Kalimantan recently affected this month by floods favored by floods of the Kapuas River and tens of thousands of homes submerged by water especially in Sintang with consequent mass evacuations. Technological innovation for the sustainable exploitation of forests in addition to limiting damage to the territory of floods makes possible to optimize the profits in a future-oriented perspective, without considering that it is necessary to support the competition. It is also about optimizing the timber processing chain where technology can play a role in preserving the forest heritage for the next generations.
