According to health authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus is spreading quickly (with record-high rates compared to previous cases) and there are over two thousand deaths due to delays in monitoring the first infections, conflicts, limited resources in the healthcare system and insecurity in the affected areas that makes it harder for health workers to trace contacts; nearly four thousand four hundred confirmed cases across five provinces.
