World capitals struggling with water scarcity
Climate change is rapidly depleting the water reserves of many world capitals, for example in Athens in Greece it is believed that water will only be sufficient for one year due to prolonged drought and increased consumption and in the future it will be necessary to build desalination plants; meanwhile in Tehran in Iran some have discussed moving the capital because of the critical issues caused by the region's water scarcity. In Indonesia satellite images have reportedly shown that the area chosen to host the future new capital has limited water resources; moreover, there is controversy in the country over deforestation plans decided by the authorities, which risk depleting the area of water. To report on a different topic but still related to natural issues a large uncontrolled wildfire is raging in Canada, in Nova Scotia (Lake George wilfire in Kings County) under dry and windy conditions.

A storm lashes France and European countries
There would be two victims in northern France due to the passing of the storm called "Amy," characterized by wind gusts exceeding one hundred and thirty kilometers per hour, then thousands of households left without electricity, especially in Normandy, and alerts in several departments. There is also talk of one victim in Ireland, in addition to damage and disruptions in Great Britain and Scandinavia. Bad weather in southeastern Bulgaria resulted in at least three victims and several people missing in the tourist village of Elenite due to flooding, with roads generally turned into rivers in the affected areas and even cars carried away over long distances. In Italy storm surges hit Emilia Romagna region, flooding some seaside resorts (recently closed after the tourist season), and recently there was one victim near Ostuni in Puglia region due to a downpour that swept away cars.

Eating habits are destabilizing the planet
Almost a third of greenhouse gas emissions come from food, at least according to one study which highlights key factors such as the environmentally harmful role of methane released by cattle, deforestation to make room for crops and the use of fossil energy for fertilizer production. Moreover, even if we stopped burning fossil fuels our eating habits tend to push global temperatures above the set limit of one and a half degrees Celsius of warming. The harmful impact includes loss of biodiversity, soil degradation, water scarcity, and pollution from fertilizers, resulting in an overall alarming situation. As for the dietary regime to follow it is recommended to eat fruits and vegetables with limited consumption of meat and fish, which would also help prevent fifteen million premature deaths.

Investigation on deepfake videos on social media platforms
A nonprofit organization reportedly identified over sixty deepfake videos on well-known social media platforms, primarily targeting the seniors, promoting fake government spending cards and healthcare payment, reaching tens of thousands of platform users and even using the U.S. faces of well-known personalities. The phenomenon of deepfakes is generally increasing worldwide and it appears that in the so-called dark web, these videos, created using generative artificial intelligence that was once very expensive can now be ordered at low cost. Another issue to highlight is the intent to use, for example, fake actors in videos driven by artificial intelligence with a high degree of realism, following a more or less successful series of presenters, then voices and music of artificial singers, in addition to texts of all kinds and from every cultural sector.

Bad weather with heavy storms in Sicily
The remnants of the strong vortex that previously affected Spain and the Balearic Islands have caused heavy storms in Sicily, there is a report of a missing person in Favara in the province of Agrigento (a woman who, while trying to get out of her car was swept away by the force of the water on a street that had turned into a rushing stream); then people were trapped in their flooded homes. According to weather forecasts the vortex is moving towards Greece and heavy rainfall is expected, in a country already affected by severe drought with reserves for Athens reduced to a minimum. To report shifting the focus to Ukraine that nine people have died due to a wave of bad weather with heavy rains that caused flooding in the Odessa province, forcing rescuers to carry out many emergency rescues for people in distress.

Strong earthquake in central Philippines
There are reportedly over sixty victims due to a shallow 6.9 magnitude earthquake with its epicenter near Palompon, close to the city of Bogo in Cebu province, but this is a preliminary figure and there are reports of collapsed buildings with people likely trapped under the rubble. Hundreds of aftershocks have been recorded by instruments. It is also reported that a commercial building and a school collapsed in Bantayan in Cebu province and power lines have fallen causing electricity outages, while authorities warned the population to stay calm and move to open areas. To report changing the subject but still on natural topics there have been disruptions in Spain for students in the Valencia region affected by recent heavy rains, then in the Balearic Islands, particularly in Ibiza, streets have been flooded.

A storm lashes Vietnam
There are at least nineteen victims, thirteen missing, and eighty-two injured due to the passage of the storm called "Bualoi" accompanied by tunderstorms, strong winds, storm surges (with one ship lost), floods and landslides; is speak of a trail of destruction with over one hundred thousand damaged houses or roofs blown off, with Ha Tinh province particularly affected, followed by Nghe An. Nine thousand four hundred hectares of rice crops and one thousand eight hundred hectares of aquaculture were destroyed, and many structures along the coasts were eroded. Numerous roads are impassable due to landslides, in addition to uprooted trees and heavy rainfall still affecting provinces in the north-central part of the country. To report shifting the attention to Spain, floods caused by heavy rains have been reported, sometimes in the same areas that were hit by disastrous floods last year.

Acidity in the seas above the safety level
Exceeding the safety level of acidity in the seas can weaken the ability to support life and human development itself, considering the billions of people who depend on them, at least according to a study by researchers who emphasize that acidification not only threatens fishing-related activities but also reduces the oceans' ability to absorb carbon dioxide and thus mitigate climate warming. For example the aragonite, a type of calcium carbonate, is used to build shells and protective coverings for a large number of marine creatures, and its deficiency means significant damage to life and the entire food chain. To report changing the subject but still on natural topics that the storm "Bualoi" is affecting central Vietnam, and many evacuations are being carried out as a precaution.

New increasingly challenges to protect the health
The challenges in trying to protect health are becoming increasingly demanding; in fact, in addition to the usual pollution, with recent studies showing how an individual is exposed to the harmful effects of indiscriminate fossil fuel use from conception to death, there is also the increased risk to the cardiovascular system due to inhalation of fine particulate matter released by large fires that are often consuming forests around the world, then heatwaves further worsen the situation. The latest challenge is represented by artificial intelligence, but in this last case much depends on how it will be used although even just hearing about viruses designed using machine computing capabilities for "health" purposes (in cases of antibiotic resistance) or medicines formulated with artificial intelligence to address potential threats is concerning.

China intends to reduce pollutant emissions
The Chinese authorities have reportedly stated that they want to reduce pollutant emissions with a plan to enhance electric power production capacity, using wind technologies and solar panels, by six times compared to the levels of 2020 within the next ten years in order to support domestic energy demand by over thirty percent. These initiatives seem to be perhaps planned in response to denialist attitudes regarding climate change from other major global powers (which are not very environmentally friendly), but China alone accounts for about thirty-three percent of pollutant global emissions, and some have long argued that its renewable energy supply chain is not very sustainable; moreover, the initiatives taken to reduce pollution through industrial restructuring by relocating emissions to other countries are indeed questionable.
