Excessive tourist presence in Antarctica
It is estimated that the number of tourists visiting Antarctica each year has increased from twenty thousand to one hundred twenty thousand over two decades, but this has significantly raised the pollutants released into the environment from the combustion of petroleum derivatives that power ships, airplanes, vehicles, and support infrastructures; the concentration of fine particles containing heavy metals (such as nickel, zinc, copper, and lead) would be ten times higher than it was forty years ago. Snow melts on the white continent much faster due to the fine polluting particles, to the extent that a single tourist can contribute to the melting of up to one hundred tons of snow, and this could lead to potentially irreversible climate changes driven by climate change, with ocean levels rising by meters, resulting in consequences deemed truly disastrous for generations.

Unprecedented situation in Spain regarding wildfires
According to Spanish authorities the situation concerning wildfires is unprecedented in the last twenty years, this is attributed to a combination of factors such as the heatwave that has been affecting the country for some time (with peaks of up to forty-five degrees Celsius) and strong winds, all exacerbated by climate change. It is estimated that almost three hundred and fifty thousand hectares of vegetation have gone up in smoke, an area figuratively comparable to the size of the island of Mallorca, with casualties, damage, and complaints from some about the disruption of part of the Camino de Santiago while high flames in some areas continue to engage firefighters. For many European countries it has been quite a disastrous wildfire season; in Portugal around two hundred and sixteen thousand hectares of vegetation have been affected by the blazes, and in France following a major fire in Aude new intervention planning is being proposed for such cases.

A hurricane strikes Puerto Rico
The category four hurricane called "Erin" has battered Puerto Rico with torrential rainfall and strong wind gusts causing flooding and disruptions, it is then quickly approaching the Bahamas in the Caribbean (which has already been affected by heavy rain and wind along with a wide area in the North Atlantic) and the trajectory of the strong vortex according to weather forecasts, could get closer to the coasts of the United States up to Canada, possibly strengthening slightly at first but gradually weakening afterwards. It is worth mentioning changing the subject but remaining on natural themes that a violent storm in southern Spain at a beach near Granada has damaged structures, uprooted trees and required the rescue of five people on boats pushed offshore, while devastating wildfires continue to ravage the country fueled by climate change.

Torrential rainfalls in Pakistan
There would be at least three hundred and forty-four victims and over one hundred and fifty missing in northwestern Pakistan due to intense monsoon rains and subsequent floods and landslides, the authorities have sent thousands of rescuers who are searching for the missing by digging through houses buried by large masses of landslide debris; streams of water and mud have also swept away cars and much debris. To report changing the subject but remaining on naturalistic themes the significant damage to vegetation in Spain in the vast areas affected by fires fueled by gusts of wind and one of the longest heat waves ever recorded in Europe since monitoring this type of data began, there are reports of victims and injuries, with firefighters severely burned while trying to tackle the flames near Ourense in the northwestern region of Galicia.

Accelerated plasticization of the planet
Given that at a recent conference in Geneva in Switzerland where a plan was to be decided to reduce plastic production there was widespread confusion among the participants and the plan was adrift it is clear that the direction towards a "plasticization of the planet" appears to be increasingly accelerated. It is estimated that with the current trend of plastic production based on fossil fuel consumption production will triple by 2060 reaching about one billion two hundred million tons per year, with one billion tons dumped into the environment risking entering the food chain. It is evident that if we consume microplastics and even breathe them the organic tissues will be exposed to inflammation as has long been shown in animals along with a whole series of side effects for which there are now even studies.

Alert for record floods in Alaska
Authorities in Alaska have declared a maximum level alert for the danger of flooding in the capital Juneau due to the sudden thermal collapse of the Mendenhall Glacier, located about nineteen kilometers from the city and a popular tourist destination, resulting in the release of large amounts of water. The flooding has already begun due to heavy rainfall and melted snow accumulating in the basin flowing into Mendenhall Lake and River; it is reported that this phenomenon has been occurring every year since 2011 due to climate change, with records set in 2023 and 2024, but last year the flooding reached almost five meters, damaging around three hundred homes. To report changing the subject but remaining on environmental themes the local state of emergency for the community of Vancouver Island in Canada due to a rapidly advancing of a fire.

Fires in Spain, Portugal and Turkey
A fire not far from Madrid, partially under control has burned vegetation in a park and gardens, then other fires in Castile, León, Castile-La Mancha, Andalusia, Galicia and Estremadura are engaging many firefighting teams, there is mention of two victim and thousands of people have been evacuated from homes, hotels and even tourists at beaches affected by the fires. In Portugal a large fire is ravaging the vegetation in the municipality of Trancoso, three hundred and fifty kilometers northeast of Lisbon. In Turkey a large fire in the province of Canakkale is under control, but causing evacuations and hospitalizations of people exposed to smoke from the fires. To report changing the subject but remaining on natural themes the temporary halt of reactors at Gravelines in France, the largest plant in Europe, due to a proliferation of jellyfish.

Earthquake in Turkey and fires in Portugal
A quake of magnitude 6.1 shook the north-west of the Balikesir province and was felt in several provinces and also in the country's largest city Istanbul (sixteen million inhabitants). There is talk of one fatality, at least two missing persons and around a dozen collapsed buildings. The epicenter was located in the town of Sindirgi where several structures collapsed, then in the village of Golcuk a minaret and a mosque gave way in addition to several houses; there were aftershocks, one of magnitude 4.6, with warnings for citizens not to return to damaged buildings. To report changing the subject but staying on environmental issues there are dozens of fires harming vegetation in Portugal [.. and in Spain with one victim], while investigations are ongoing into potential arson causes for the large fire that is consuming the valuable pine forest at the foot of Mount Vesuvius.

Landslides and floods in Guansu in China
There would be at least fifteen victims and twenty-eight missing in Guansu, northern China, due to torrential rain and the resulting landslides and floods, with the Yuzhong county in Lanzhou being particularly affected, as well as some other areas like Zhouqu; authorities have sent rescue teams that are digging through piles of debris and mud in search of the missing and to assist people in distress, with mass evacuations also being discussed to facilitate rescue operations. To report changing the subject but remaining on environmental themes a large fire in the Vesuvius park in the Campania region of Italy has burned over five hundred hectares of vegetation with an imposing front of fire engaging firefighting planes and many firefighters who are also trying to create firebreaks to prevent the advance of the flames.

Fires and strong winds in Greece
A large fire is burning vegetation in eastern Attica, with reports of one victim in Keratea, and houses burned in Palaia Fokaia, many fire brigades are trying to combat the flames and personnel are engaged in evacuating the most at-risk areas. Fires are also occurring in Chelidoni (ancient Olympia) and near Irakleia, Ilia where the flames have advanced rapidly due to gusts of wind causing panic among residents. Regarding the strong winds reaching up to one hundred kilometers per hour authorities have reportedly ordered a navigation ban from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio and forecasts announce that the gusts may continue for two days. To report shifting attention to France that the fire in Aude has burned one hundred sixty thousand hectares of vegetation the largest since 1949, with the wind fueling the flames.
