Cinnamon to improve metabolic health

A test carried out on the adipocytes of volunteers of different ages, ethnicity and fitness condition would have shown that if treated with an essential oil (cinnamaldehyde) present in the cinnamon and that characterizes the typical scent of the spices could be useful to improve metabolic health and promote the thermogenesis, at least according to American researchers who claim that this discovery could help to avoid obesity. Several genes and enzymes involved in lipid metabolism would be more activated in the presence of this essential oil and also two proteins regulating metabolic metabolism involved in the thermogenesis, whereas the adipocytes normally store the energy in the form of lipids. In the past it had already been verified how cinnamon could play a role in the control of cholesterol and had other healthy characteristics in general for the body.
