Equipping technologies with a stop button

A technology without a button, a lever, or a plug that can be removed to turn it off is obviously not positive, just as uncontrolled power can cause more harm than benefits; therefore for example generative artificial intelligence should not have areas of autonomy and any decision it makes should have human supervision. Even the father of artificial intelligence (G.H.) talks about the risk that it could become smarter than us and take over also because it is impossible to predict what advancements this technology will make. There are figurative parallels drawn with maternal instincts and other typical human characteristics as a way to put some brakes on it, but in the case of a super-intelligent AI it is difficult to imagine a scenario of unregulated competition to develop technology that is not human-centered.
