Estimates on the duration of Ebola outbreak in Congo
The Ebola virus has probably been spreading unnoticed for weeks and now there are about six hundred suspected cases and at least one hundred thirty-nine suspected deaths from the Bundibugyo strain, which is rare and currently has no available treatments or vaccines; at least according to statements from international health organizations that estimate the outbreak in Congo will last at least two months. Some say that the contagion cases have been substantially underestimated; at first it was thought to be other diseases when in fact it was a strain of Ebola considered worrisome for various reasons requiring accurate testing in specialized laboratories and these specific health technical characteristics can hardly be adopted quickly with already present outbreaks. Ebola is a highly contagious virus and is transmitted through bodily fluids.
