Protecting mental health of young people from certain social media After a decision regarding the danger for young people of becoming addicted to the so-called scrolling of images and video streaming represented by a well-known social network of authorities in New Mexico, even in Los Angeles there is talk of the deliberate use of techniques to encourage a kind of addiction that can threaten the well-being of children on two social media platforms. Another risk according to some is represented by artificial intelligence used by young people; in fact, practically almost no one now uses their own mind to produce a complex piece of writing, relying on the help of this questionable "thinking" technology; then in general if we analyze the percentage of texts written in the world perhaps we are already at the point where generative artificial intelligence surpasses human writing, not to mention that often writing is done while unknowingly reading texts partly produced by machines. e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 26/03/2026

Preparing to face wildfires in Europe The wildfire season has become longer, and Europe would be dangerously unprepared to face a crisis caused by forest fires, at least according to a Portuguese report that highlights the low investment in firefighting planes and helicopters, the increased risks in southern Europe due to climate changes that make vegetation drier and more susceptible to fire. Fires that usually occurred from the first days of June to mid-September now start earlier and end later in the year and they can also affect northern countries; for example one thousand and one hundred hectares of vegetation were burned in Sweden last year with an increase of more than one hundred twenty percent compared to the recent average, there has also been an increase in fires in Finland and Denmark, while Spain, Portugal, Romania, Italy, Greece, and France (in that order) were the most affected. e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 25/03/2026

Imbalance in the amount of heat absorbed by the Earth With eleven consecutive years of global average temperatures hitting record highs (which cannot be considered an anomalous causality) the planet would have absorbed greenhouse gas emissions and trapped excessive amounts of heat, resulting in a so-called energy imbalance and there is concern about a further increase in temperatures with the arrival of a phase driven by the global current "El Nino". For example in 2025 record levels of heat were reached, impacting global temperatures in ways that could last for thousands of years, then according to international organizations the planet is essentially pushed beyond its limits with every climate indicator showing red alert putting it in a state of emergency. For the first time reference is made to the climate report, the percentage at which energy enters the climate system and then leaves it. e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 24/03/2026

Flood evacuations in Hawaii A river of mud poured into vast areas of the North Shore Oahu community known for the high waves "ridden" by surfers, then the authorities reportedly evacuated more than five thousand five hundred people from an area north of Honolulu where lake like formations appeared with houses and cars partially submerged in what are considered the worst floods in over twenty years (in 2004 for example damage to the Hawaii library is remembered). Due to water-saturated ground from previous heavy rainfall which worsened the situation in what is sometimes described as devastating, authorities are still trying to assess the damage and perhaps hundreds of homes are affected. The Wahiawa Dam twenty-eight kilometers northwest of Honolulu on the island of Oahu considered vulnerable for some time is being monitored for possible failure and interventions are being evaluated. e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 23/03/2026

Record heat in California on average for the period With over forty-four degrees Celsius recorded in a desert area near the city of Yuma on the border between California and Arizona experts speak of a record for the month of March, for what is an event that occurs once in half a millennium and in reality can be linked to climate changes caused by humans. Twenty-nine degrees in the city of San Francisco which at this time of year is usually chilly and a bit foggy is a record figure for the month of March and these abnormal temperatures extend from the southern coast of California to Las Vegas in the desert. There is little doubt that these extreme events are caused by global warming resulting from the indiscriminate use of fossil fuels, then the plants and trees were already in bloom (in winter), the vegetation had been growing lushly for some time fed by the copious rains in December and January. e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 21/03/2026

Risk from drifting gas tanker off the coast of Libya An ecological disaster is feared due to a large gas tanker that risks sinking possibly off the coast of Libya, this ship has been adrift for some time without a crew on board and at the mercy of the waves loaded with gas that could ignite and hydrocarbons that could pollute the sea; European intervention has been requested also due to the difficulty of the operation and the high costs involved for effective safety measures. To report changing the topic but remaining on natural issues that authorities in Tenerife in the Canary Islands reportedly advised limiting movements as much as possible (with teleworking and maximum caution) due to a storm characterized by strong wind and rain, then recently there was a fatality in the Swiss Alps due to a gondola falling on a cable car because of strong wind gusts along with several other accidents generally occurring in the Alps due to adverse weather conditions. e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 20/03/2026

Study about long-term benefits for heart of some medicines Taking GLP-1 medicines that mimic the action of glucagon a hormone that helps control blood glucose levels (for diabetics, but usually improperly used for weight loss) reduces the risk of heart attacks; however researchers warn that if they are stopped these benefits diminish more quickly than the time needed with therapy to improve the patient's heart health. One study suggests that for example if the drugs are taken for three years obtaining cardiovascular benefits in this way, then stopping the therapy within a year and a half causes these benefits to be lost. Nausea, fatigue and the cost of these medicines are the reasons why people usually tend not to continue the therapy, but this could have consequences for the cardiovascular system; therefore the situation regarding heart health should be appropriately monitored. e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 19/03/2026

Bad weather in some regions of Italy Due to a cyclone heavy rainfall has caused landslides in Calabria region one of which brushed against a building in the province of Cosenza, then some traffic difficulties, particularly on a state road in the province of Vibo Valentia. In Sicily there are reports of heavy rain and gusts of wind causing various damages, while the weather forecast announces cold currents of Siberian origin, strong freezing winds, temperature drops, and possible snowfall even in the central-southern regions. To report changing the topic but remaining on naturalistic themes that at the depths (about six thousand meters) of the Cayman and Anguilla Islands, in the Caribbean Sea in British territory, researchers have identified a coral reef that withstands climate change and is inhabited by species never seen before; since 2023 eighty percent of the corals in the world have been destroyed due to rising temperatures. e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 18/03/2026

Wave of bad weather over the United States A climate characterized by rather chaotic extreme events could affect over one hundred million people from coast to coast in the United States with gusts of wind (with the danger that if particular conditions occur they could fuel potential tornadoes) on the East Coast and unusual summer-like heat in California. A storm has caused power outages for over two hundred sixty thousand utilities and businesses in the Midwest, then there are reports of thousands of canceled flights and announcements of delays, a possible blizzard in Wisconsin and Michigan, disruptions in several states due to wind chills. Changing the topic but staying on natural phenomena at least fifty victims and over one hundred twenty missing people have recently been reported in southern Ethiopia due to a landslide caused by heavy rainfall that is common in the rainy season. e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 17/03/2026

A day a fraction of a second longer Due to the rise in sea levels caused by the melting of ice fueled by global warming, the planet's rotation would be slightly slowed down, is talking about an increase of a tiny fraction of a second almost impossible to notice in everyday life; but the speed at which this phenomenon is occurring according to researchers has never happened in millions of years, then by the end of the century climate change could influence the planet's rotation more than the Moon which has historically been the decisive factor in slowing down Earth's rotation over long periods. To report on a different topic but still related to natural events the arrival of a cyclone in Calabria and Sicily regions with ongoing alerts and heavy snowfall in the Alps in Valle D'Aosta and the province of Varese in Lombardy (with one fatality from related causes). e-mail: info@salutary.eu Tel: +39 338 1809310 Date: 16/03/2026
