Chemical alarm at Houston in Texas

The lack of refrigeration of some organic peroxide plants found at Houston in Texas caused by the floods, which occurred for torrential rainfall brought by the "Harvey" tropical storm, has made unstable the chemical compounds making them easily flammable and already have occurred explosions and intoxications even if it is not clear what the level of toxicity of these products and there would be a debate on this subject also concerning the danger that the plants take fire. In practice the difference between hydrogen peroxide and organic peroxide is the addition of carbon that makes it easily flammable not decomposing into water, then there are other chemicals used to manufacture various plastics that if they burn emit of highly toxic gases that can also be fatal if inhaled or are corrosive and guns in contact with the skin.

Explosion in front of a kindergarten in China

Would be seven the victims and fifty-nine the wounded of the explosion that invested parents and children just as they came out of a kindergarten in the county of Fengxian that is located in the east of Jiangsu Province in China. Investigations are underway to understand the causes of the accident although it may have been a gas leak, perhaps from a cylinder, at a food stall vendor to provoke the explosion and some say that sometimes it is scarce the safety of these stalls often present on the streets. Changing subject but remaining on issues relating the security to be reported that has risen to seventeen the official number of victims of the Grenfell Tower in London although it is now clear that it will not be possible to find in life none of the scattered trapped in the large building not equipped with alarm systems, automatic fire extinguishers and with no escape route; so the total balance could be of over one hundred of casualties.

Fire in a tower of apartments in London

The causes of the serious fire that is devouring the Grenfell Tower in London where renovations were partially underway were not yet clarified, there are at least twelve victims, more of seventy wounded and people who ask for help being trapped in the building (little safe) built in 1974 of twenty-seven floors and one hundred and twenty apartments in the North Kensingston district that also threatens to collapse; many firefighters teams try to cope with the flames allowing the total evacuation, but it is feared that some people cannot abandon this great structure. To be reported changing subject but remaining on issues regarding the safety a new railway accident in Italy at Galugnano in Puglia, this time without serious consequences, in a single track line perhaps for a distraction of the machinist just under a year away from the railway disaster that occurred in the same area that caused twenty-seven victims.

Unhealthy warlike statements and images

Recent statements to be prepared for a conflict after repeated provocations from other countries using arsenals of mass destruction of North Korea accompanied by images of hypothetical destruction against the opponent, whereas in theory the destructive potential is real, do come back to mind the cold war scenarios of the past almost forgotten with statements calling for peace of scientists having contributed to build atomic bomb then have worked with numerous peace initiatives. Keep in mind that often leads to example of creative imagination in mathematics just a scientist like Albert Einstein that may be regarded in practice as the father of the atomic bomb and this cannot be a positive indicator because the consequences of his initial choices still constitute a threat to all humanity.

Details on using of increasingly powerful bombs

The occurrence of the release in Afghanistan of the more powerful bomb after that atomic was accompanied by a controversial list (imagine being among the unlucky invested by the explosion in its range) of its technical characteristics; in fact apparently razing everything within a radius of one kilometer and the shockwaves are still able to kill a man over two and a half kilometres away, then breaks the windows of homes over eight kilometres away and the fungus caused by the explosion dust covers a radius of nearly fifty kilometers. Meanwhile is continue to talk about the alleged use of chemical weapons that are becoming more and more especially arms of the military propaganda, while continue the demonstrations of force in a senseless arms race that sees a rapid global growth in the percentage of sales of new armaments.

Broken femur to train a new surgical technique

Sometimes one wonders how experience the new surgical techniques since it is evident that any innovation in the medical field before it is adopted on a large scale should be experienced on somebody, and now from a survey carried out for a leading orthopedist in Milan (which hopefully is not the norm) seems to have emerged that the doctor broke the femur of an elderly patient to train with a new type of surgical technique and for make it easier to intervene later on the prosthesis implanted has applied a kind of hinge instead of applying the stitches. The affair quite grotesque that documented also episodes of corruption regarding the implants to install it appears that sometimes the choices were not made on the basis of their actual functional utility. The defence counsel contends that the doctor's statements were not interpreted correctly, out of the real context. [..2023 not gulty].

Considerations to six years from Fukushima

The situation regarding the security in the Fukushima Daiichi power plant to six years after the worst nuclear disaster occurred after Chernobyl in 1986 would seem to still quite difficult, at least judging by the news of strong radiation leak detected recently beneath a molten reactor core (yet another of the many reported in these years) on which it could not intervene to control the extent of the leak using a new super-armored robot controlled remotely because of strong radiation that completely distorting images transmitted to operators even though they had managed to advance into the chamber of the Unit 2. With regard to the stabilization of the plant will require decades while progressing slowly with the work whereas still lacks a cover type sarcophagus to prevent that radionuclides are dispersed into the environment.

Fire in a juvenile shelter in Guatemala

Would be thirty-one girls between fourteen and seventeen years of age victims of a fire that broke out in the female living section of a shelter for young people located at east of Guatemala City; the death toll has risen steadily because of extensive burns suffered by many girls in an attempt to save themselves. The shelter had been repeatedly accused in the past of being overcrowded (an estimated were about eight hundred teenagers when the fire occurred instead of five hundred), then there were also been complaints from any kind of abuse practiced by staff with consequent escape or escape attempts by some young for unsustainable living conditions. Guatemala are observing three days of mourning for the tragedy and the director of the shelter was fired, while searching for the causes that have given rise to the fire even though some said they expected to happen something like that.

Return to Iitate in Japan despite the radiation

Within walking distance of time from discovery of a new relevant radioactive leak from the damaged plant in Fukushima, where not even the robots specially designed to withstand over one thousand Sievert of radiation were able to advance sufficiently inside a reactor to inspect the leak because blinded, the authorities have decided to bring return the population at the end of March in the city now deserted of Iitate; but radiation monitored in this area are still at a level dangerous to health, and then according to some it is a stretch to accelerate the process of turning on the power plant after the disaster of 2011. Others claim that the nuclear industry is still alive and well without having made much progress after the discovery of the alarming vulnerability of many power plants in the world almost as if it was almost a foregone conclusion that there will be no more extreme events that could damage the reactors.

Nuclear France plants often obsolete

The incident happened in Flamanville nuclear power plant in Northern France although if occurred in a contiguous zone from reactors without that there has been radioactive leaks or damage to personnel who remained only in some cases slightly intoxicated by the fumes bursting forth from a large cooling fan has reignited the debate about security because it happened in one of those accused of being obsolete with old technologies and systems where some denounced as tripled the costs construction of the new EPR reactors (European Pressurised Reactors); then in April of 2015 were identified weaknesses in the steel vessel that surround the reactors that could crack under pressure and then the atomic plant did not provide acceptable levels of safety. To report changing the subject but staying on security issues yet another radioactive leak a week ago from the Fukushima damaged plant.
