The selfies photograph a distorted face profile

When take a photograph of the face with the smartphone using the self-timer type function of the selfies the nose will be wider than it is in reality and apparently has happened that people have gone to the plastic surgeon with the request to be subjected to cosmetic procedures so that the photographs can be more pleasing, then it happens that many want to try to improve the photo on the platforms of social media. It was also measured the distortion caused by selfie that tends to widen the size of the nose and that would be a thirty percent for males and a twenty-nine percent for females with a selfies made from the distance of thirty centimeters from the face, but if get away from a meter and a half this distortion will minimize so much that is possible adjust the distance of the camera to emphasize more less or less a detail of the face.

A supermarket without plastic packaging

If there are gluten or lactose, and fat free products in the same way the consumer should have the opportunity to buy unpackaged products in plastic, at least according to statements by managers of a Dutch chain of supermarkets that opened one in Amsterdam where in the lanes everything can put in the trolley is packaged using glass, metal, cardboard or compostable and biodegradable materials. This is the first supermarket in the world without plastics with the intention by the end of the year to adapt to this choice more friendly environment all seventy-four outlets since plastic is becoming one of the worst threats to humanity. It is estimated that more than eight billion tons of various plastics produced from the 1950 over six have become wastes that remain for centuries in the oceans and landfills and only nine percent would have been recycled.

Clarifications on biodegradable plastic

Consumers may be misled about the use of certain products marketed as "biodegradable plastic" thinking that once disposed can slowly disappear completely from the environment when instead containing high percentages of plastic derived from fossil fuels in practice initially have a very polluting impact and then disintegrate into microplastic with the effect of causing further ecological problems; at least according to a Norwegian study that warns that biodegradable plastic is not recyclable and cannot be part of a circular economy. Must to pay attention to the right type of use and for example those who use the so-called dog bags biodegradable for animals should not think that if not properly disposed can be degraded by the environment and still it is better to use bags completely biodegradable just to one hundred percent.

Do not try to smoke and watch out for films

Anyone who has tried to smoke a cigarette is likely to become smoker, at least from what results from a research carried out for six years on two hundred and fifteen thousand people with questionnaires that would have verified that about sixty percent of these state that they have tried to smoke; then nearly sixty-nine percent continued to smoke in the following days. This is approximate data with some limitation because people do not always remember well the time when they turned on the first cigarette and subject to errors of assessment but that emphasizes how important it is not to have experience of cigarettes. Another study shows that it is common for young people to see in films of recent production and in television others who smoke or take a cigarette from a package and then be enticed to smoke. To minimize the damage from smoking once freed of the unhealthy vice can eat many apples and tomatoes.

Little salutary marathon in the New Delhi smog

Despite the negative opinion of the health authorities thousands of citizens of New Delhi joined a very little salutary (half) marathon; in fact the quality of the air has been evaluated as very low even if efforts have been made to try to improve the situation by washing the roads with a substance that absorbs the particulate and limiting the circulation of cars, then a slight rain had given another little help. From the early days of November New Delhi (very polluted metropolis from over twenty million inhabitants) and other parts of northern India find themselves in a hood of smog that envelops every inhabited with a kind of toxic fog so many people have presented themselves as sick in the hospital and many schools have been closed; so it is easy to imagine what damage to the body can have to a person who runs in these conditions by conveying more particulate matter in the respiratory tree.

Plan to reduce smog in different metropolises

Twelve metropolises such as Paris, London and Los Angeles, which combined together reach a population of nearly eighty million people, have developed a plan to reduce pollution by purchasing only zero-emission buses to replace them all by 2025, then make large areas free from fossil fuel emissions by 2030 since are the same that causing climate warming; so more parks, pedestrian areas and roads for electric and hydrogen powered vehicles also to make these cities become more attractive places for living conditions. Private sector intervention will be necessary in order to realise zero-emission investments; moreover for example for Milan should also like to return to more sustainable lifestyles avoiding uninterrupted traffic day and night for purchases in commercial activities always open or for other purposes.

Unhealthy hood smog on the Po Valley

Due to the persistence of high pressure with prolonged lack of rainfall a thick hood of smog was formed in northern Italy which stagnates above all on the Po valley passing in some cases far beyond double the limits of subtle dust with lots of warnings for Turin to not open doors and windows and avoid outdoor activities, a condition reminiscent of some measures adopted for Asian metropolis; but the pollution maps reveal that even vast areas of Poland are characterized by the same problem. There are many large towns of the Po Valley such as Turin, Milan, Brescia, Verona.. Where raw materials are converged for industrial processing and relative road and highway traffic agreed plans to avoid the accumulation of fine dusts and for the containment of polluting emissions and there have long been controversy over the European regulations are not adopted.

High night temperatures in Corsica

While the weather forecasts warn that the anticyclone of African origin will remain permanently on Italy and partly on some parts of Europe in the coming days with inevitable hood of hot the first signs of this unhealthy situation were monitored in Corsica where night temperatures recorded a record of thirty and a half Celsius degrees. This is important because the body in the evening hours tries to recover the energy spent during the day and if the temperature is high do not activate with efficacy the natural biological mechanisms based on the fundamental circadian rhythms to ensure a durable protective wellbeing for the immune system and against the pathologies in general. The humidity for the moment is maintained on enough norm values for the period and therefore the perceived temperatures (subjective parameter to be evaluated in particular for children and the elderly) should correspond to the real ones.

Restrictions diesel cars increasingly stringent

There are several metropolises where the quality of the air is bad and diesel vehicles have long been considered among those responsible for the increasing pollution that sometimes makes it almost difficult to breathe and among the cities ahead of the restrictions apparently there is Stuttgart that since the beginning of 2018 will not allow diesel cars to access the city centre; in fact the ban according to local authorities does not violate European legislation by supporting how citizens health always has precedence, but the measure will be challenged by the opposition. Some have not been adopted by the cars manufacturers enough measures to reduce the levels of nitrogen dioxide in the air while for others the latest models would be less polluting, but the problem perhaps lies in the type of operation of these engines that does not even allow with complex filtering systems to really reduce road emissions.

Work slowed down in the vineyards with the heat

The productivity of those working in the vineyards with the heat would decrease by more than two percent for each additional degree of temperature, at least according to a study carried out by Greek researchers in Cyprus where those who must harvest the grape bunches often have to cope with temperatures above thirty-six degrees; in fact increase the breaks that workers are forced to take to resume their forces and this has implications on the wine industry with significant economic losses due to frequent heat waves related to climate change. The quality of the wine depends very much on the temperatures that affect the delicate buds in the vineyards, on the grapes when they ripen and on the right balance between sugars and acidity; then if as more and more often happens there is also scarcity of water the grape beans are smaller without counting that in case the smoke of fires invests the vineyards also the taste of the wine will be less pleasant.
