Simplifying and organizing power grids
The accident that occurred to the Iberian electricity grid with fifty-five million people left in the dark due to a blackout considered historic about ten days ago raises the question of whether it is not necessary to simplify and organize the energy distribution of large countries in a more efficient way; in fact, apparently it is not possible to understand what the real cause of the blackout is and every hypothesis put forward has been discarded (with some theories also judged rather evanescent and made to capture public attention). These are very articulated networks with the additional complexity constituted by the relative novelty of renewable energy, the increase in electric cars on the road and various devices that absorb a lot of energy for recharging; all for electricity grids that are often not well organized, a bit chaotic and also exposed to possible cyber attacks and the climate changes variable.
