Import solar energy from African countries

Has long been talk of initiatives to prepare the large fields of solar panels in the desert areas of Africa and now an ambitious English project have planned to import solar energy that can provide two and a half million homes by Tunisia since 2018, in practice should bring two gigawatts from North Africa by concentrating the sun's rays by a large circular area and focusing them in a central tower that is also able to store it in part, then submarine cables will bring the energy to the target. It is definitely a risky project but some funds have already been allocated; moreover this type of technology allows an on demand distribution that can be switched on or off and to limit the emissions of pollutants. In Japan on the other hand seems to points on hydrogen that does not emit carbon dioxide when it is burned, has a high energy efficiency and can be used for vehicles.
