Irresistible persuasion of AI chatbots
Anyone interacting with a chatbot supported by generative artificial intelligence could be subtly and convincingly influenced even in decisions about who should govern the polis, at least according to a study conducted by Canadian researchers (based on a larger U.S. study) persuasion becomes very effective by tailoring arguments to each individual; therefore, in theory the responses do not follow consistent logic but aim solely to convince the user to change their opinion until the machine's desired outcome is achieved. To increase the persuasive effect existing databases with user-related data are used, which should be subject to restrictions through appropriate regulations to limit the potential of artificial intelligence.
