Regional risk raised for the Ebola outbreak in Congo
There are reportedly almost seven hundred and fifty suspected cases of infection and one hundred and seventy-seven suspected deaths in Congo due to the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus. International organizations have raised the risk for this outbreak to "very high" from "high" (low at a global level) due to the latest reported cases of infection, then the absence of a vaccine or specific therapies for the virus, conflicts and violence in the area and the high mobility of the population. The authorities in Congo have banned funerals in the province most affected by the infections and established that specialized personnel take care of the bodies; some say that tents intended for the care of the sick have been burned. To report on a different topic but still related to health issues that in Southern California forty thousand people have been evacuated due to a methyl methacrylate chemical leak, and the situation is being monitored.
