Exclusion zone in southern California area due to toxic leak
A large exclusion zone has been established in Orange County in the southeastern part of Los Angeles in California (not far from Disneyland, that remains open) due to a toxic methacrylate leak from a cracked tank containing twenty-six thousand liters of the chemical compound capable of irritating the skin, eyes, mucous membranes, as well as causing respiratory and neurological reactions; there is talk of declaring a state of emergency and evacuating about forty thousand residents; barriers are being placed to prevent the chemical compound from reaching sewer drains and channels potentially spilling into the ocean. To report on a different topic but still related to natural phenomena a heat wave is affecting some European countries; for example, in Italy temperatures of thirty-six degrees are expected in Bolzano and much higher than normal temperatures in several northern cities, with abnormal heat also in parts of France.
