Record average temperatures in Spain and France
Due to an African high-pressure system of subtropical type there is mention temperatures are well above the seasonal average with various records for the month of May during the heatwave, for example, in Spain peaks can reach nearly thirty-eight degrees Celsius, and in France thirty-six (seven victims due to the heat); then intense heat also in England with a kind of heat dome over London and the situation is not very different in Italy for several cities in the North. Shifting attention to India the heatwave affecting central and north-western areas has not yet abated in a grip of "brutal" heat and heat islands with temperatures reaching up to forty-seven degrees Celsius, there are reports of many victims from heatstroke, mostly males; while authorities warn to be cautious while working under the sun and to stay hydrated.
