More examples of out-of-control artificial intelligence
Attempts by artificial intelligence to go beyond assigned tasks had already happened—for example self-replicating, then an application managed to hide on a server to complete programmed instructions, now there’s talk of a kind of attack on another AI model exploiting a system vulnerability. Some say it was a network escape from a controlled environment (obviously a test not strictly controlled enough to finish an assigned task) that was stopped by automated security systems and required an intervention described as unprecedented to immediately strengthen them. The programmers of the attacked AI infrastructure reportedly said they were impressed by such a sophisticated type of attack and that it happened completely autonomously.
