Harmful artificial intelligence for kids
The tech industry that develops AI-powered applications seems to be making the same mistakes as in the social media era potentially causing even greater harm to kids, at least according to an expert of the sector. Lately there seems to be a trend of kids turning to generative artificial intelligence as if it were a kind of friend capable of solving existential and emotional issues, at the cost of huge energy consumption, pollution and a noticeable environmental impact (there are even places in the world without water while data centers keep running). To report on a different note that access to an Australian government health website was hacked in June by an AI program.
